For many years, I have worked with families, children, and individuals in their homes, in their communities or wherever location they may choose. I have expertise with children and families who are experiencing or have experienced trauma in a number of ways including attachment issues, physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse, addictions, and mental illnesses. I have helped parents struggling with their infants, toddlers, school age, and adolescent children with behavioral challenges. I have helped many families facing a divorce, death, legal and financial difficulties as well as other transitional difficulties. I partner with families or individuals to identify goals and solutions to help relieve their pain and improve their quality of life.
I've worked with children, families, and adolescents as a direct service provider, an in-home visitor, a community organizer, a state director, a residential program provider, a quality assurance administrator, an outpatient clinic director, and a community mental health program director. Due to my vast experience, I can provide program design and development and quality improvement at a community, regional, and state system level. I have provided supervision for various types of staff, including direct care, case management, volunteers, students, mental health professionals, and financial and administrative staff. I have extensive experience with project management, assessing strengths and weaknesses of programs, developing quality assurance processes, writing, developing operational and clinical policies, and cultivating teams to solve problems with plans to improve quality and efficiency. I have experience with group facilitation for team building, motivation, and consensus building as well as system of care principles.
My expertise is in training multi-discipline professionals in working in various settings with children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral challenges. I work with teachers, probation officers, attorneys, judges, and other community organizations to address challenging behaviors. I also host training with parents, including foster families.

I provide supervision for professionals working toward obtaining their LCSW or LAPSW license, and I work with individuals and groups. Supervision with me is consistent with reflective supervision principles. The supervision process is a collaborative relationship, and we will take a team approach to work with clients. During supervision, we focus on assessing cases, understanding the parallel process, reviewing theoretical foundations for practice, reviewing all aspects of making ethical and accurate diagnoses
